n8n agency for production workflow automation
How we run this.
n8n is a workflow automation platform that can run in the cloud or on your own server. It connects hundreds of applications, supports custom JavaScript and Python and includes AI nodes for working with language models. As n8n developers and consultants, we build workflows your team can read and trust, with named steps, error handling, alerts and written documentation for each one.
What we actually ship.
Workflow builds
New n8n workflows for lead routing, onboarding, reporting, document handling and AI-assisted tasks.
Zapier and Make migrations
Existing zaps and scenarios rebuilt in n8n and tested side by side before the old version is turned off.
Self-hosting
n8n deployed on a server or cloud account you control, with backups, updates and access controls.
AI workflows
Workflows that use n8n's AI nodes with OpenAI or Anthropic Claude to classify, summarize, extract and draft.
Error handling
Retries, error workflows and alerts to Slack or email so failed runs are caught and fixed quickly.
Maintenance
Ongoing monitoring, version upgrades and fixes when a connected app changes its API.
n8n Automation, explained.
Why choose n8n over Zapier or Make
n8n makes sense when workflows run often, contain real logic or touch sensitive data. Because it can be self-hosted, your data can stay on infrastructure you control. n8n Cloud plans are priced by workflow execution rather than by individual step, and the self-hosted community edition carries no per-task fee, which changes the math for high-volume work. Code nodes let a developer handle edge cases that would otherwise need several extra steps or a separate service.
Zapier and Make remain good tools. For a simple two-step automation that a non-technical team owns, they can be the better choice, and we build in both. We recommend n8n when a workflow needs branching, loops, custom code or AI steps, or when task-based pricing has become a meaningful line item.
Migrating from Zapier or Make to n8n
A migration starts with an inventory of every active zap or scenario: what triggers it, what it changes and who depends on it. Many accounts contain duplicate or abandoned automations, and we retire those instead of rebuilding them. We then rebuild the remaining workflows in n8n, run both versions in parallel on live data and compare the results before switching over, one workflow at a time.
n8n hosting, monitoring and maintenance
Self-hosted n8n needs the same care as any other server. We set up the instance with a database, backups, SSL, user access and a routine for applying updates. Each production workflow gets an error workflow that logs the failure and alerts a named owner. Where possible we keep workflows in version control, so changes can be reviewed and rolled back.
If you would rather not manage a server, n8n Cloud is an option, and we build and maintain workflows there the same way.
Questions we get, answered plainly.
What does an n8n agency do?
An n8n agency designs, builds and maintains automation workflows on the n8n platform for other businesses. Genesis DMA maps the process to automate, builds the workflow with error handling and alerts, sets up self-hosted or cloud n8n, migrates existing Zapier or Make automations and provides monitoring and updates after launch.
Is n8n better than Zapier?
n8n is a better fit for complex, high-volume or data-sensitive workflows because it supports custom code, branching logic and self-hosting. Zapier is often the better fit for simple automations that a non-technical team wants to manage itself. Genesis DMA recommends a platform for each workflow and builds in n8n, Zapier and Make.
Should we self-host n8n or use n8n Cloud?
Self-hosting n8n suits businesses that want their data on their own infrastructure or run high volumes of workflows. n8n Cloud suits teams that would rather not maintain a server. Self-hosting requires backups, security updates and monitoring, which Genesis DMA can manage. Both options run the same workflows, and moving between them later is possible.
How long does a Zapier to n8n migration take?
A migration timeline depends on the number of active automations and how many systems they touch. A small account with a handful of workflows can often be moved in a few weeks. Genesis DMA inventories the account first, retires unused automations, then rebuilds and tests each workflow in parallel before turning off the original.
Can n8n work with AI models?
Yes. n8n includes AI nodes that connect to models from OpenAI, Anthropic and other providers, along with components for agents, memory and retrieval from documents. Genesis DMA uses these nodes to classify inbound messages, extract data from documents, summarize calls and draft replies, with a human review step wherever an error would be costly.
